This was actually the first red velvet cake I've ever made. I know this sounds rediculous, but I am somewhat against a cake that's not really a flavor, and gets it's fame solely from the fact that it contains an insane amount of red food coloring. If red dye number 5 tastes so great, why don't we just drink it straight from the bottle? But I digress....
Long story short, my test subjects (co-workers I try recipes on) went crazy over it and devoured the whole thing. I must admit, it was an incredibly moist cake and the color is quite attractive.
